Among the awardees are researchers from the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida.

The funded project, Non-Invasive Glucose Monitoring: Leveraging Machine Learning for Continuous Diabetes Care, is led by Parisa Rashidi, Ph.D., professor and UF Research Foundation Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and Adam Khalifa, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, in collaboration with colleagues from the College of Medicine.
The team aims to develop a non-invasive system for continuous glucose monitoring using advanced machine learning techniques. By combining AI-driven models with novel sensing approaches, the project seeks to reduce reliance on traditional finger-prick or implantable devices.
This work has the potential to significantly improve patient comfort, increase adherence to monitoring, and enable more personalized, real-time management of diabetes.
