Congratulations to Jessica Hornyak, an undergraduate Sharma Lab member, for becoming a 2018-2019 University Scholar!
University Scholars is a competitive program that funds a research project for undergraduate students. In this program, scholars work one-on-one with UF faculty, and are introduced to the exciting world of academic research. The award includes a $1,750 scholarship and scholars participate in a poster session at the end of the program.
Jessica will be continuing her research on the development of the NIKI (“Non-Invasive Knee Injury”) device, a tool designed to induce osteoarthritis in vivo. The NIKI will create a platform to study osteoarthritis and potential disease therapeutics in a clinically relevant model.
