Ivana Parker, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida, has been named a Keystone Symposia Fellow, a prestigious honor recognizing outstanding early-career scientists.
The Keystone Symposia Fellows Program is a yearlong initiative designed to provide postdoctoral researchers and early-career scientists with the support, training and networking opportunities needed to advance their research careers. Fellows gain leadership and decision-making skills to help shape the future of academia, industry and government research.
Through the program, Parker will participate in career development workshops and hands-on immersion experiences with esteemed scientists from the Keystone Symposia Scientific Advisory Board. Key training elements include:
- Participation in advisory board meetings, where fellows collaborate with global experts to develop scientific programming for Keystone Symposia’s internationally recognized conferences.
- Leadership training to strengthen career development skills.
- Mentorship opportunities, including one-on-one mentoring with a distinguished advisory board member.
- Peer-to-peer networking through the Keystone Symposia Diversity in Life Science Programs community.
- Travel award support to attend a future Keystone Symposia conference.
Parker joins a distinguished network of past fellows who have leveraged this opportunity to enhance their careers and visibility within the biomedical research community.
