The J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering held UF BME Field Day on July 28 to allow faculty, students and staff to connect and have a wellness activity break during the summer. The event was located on campus at Flavet Field and offered a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. This is the first Field Day for the department which was hosted by BME student Bassam Smadi (Schmidt lab).
Bassam submitted his idea when the department sent a request for wellness and mental health activities. This outreach aims to ensure faculty, students and staff have the tools to see them through life’s successes and challenges.
