Associate Chair and Associate Professor Hans van Oostrom was elected as an officer of the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) Biomedical Engineering Division (BED).  His position is Member-At-Large and his responsibility will be to participate on the BED Executive Committee and to administer the new BED graduate travel award program.  ASEE BED promotes excellence in Biomedical Engineering education through academic activities and workshops at their annual meeting.  Dr. van Oostrom is responsible for the new (Fall 2012) BME undergraduate program and can provide ASEE BED a unique perspective of a starting program.  His goals are to organize the excellent resources other BED members have to offer to facilitate improvements in BME education.
