BME Family and Friends:
Welcome to the fall semester! I hope you enjoyed the summer break and are full of energy and enthusiasm for what is sure to be an exciting year!
To kick off the new academic year, the UF BME department is hosting a welcome reception on Friday, August 22nd at 3:00 p.m. in the Biomedical Sciences Building atrium. Please join us for refreshments as we celebrate and welcome both new students and new faculty to the department. During this event, I will present a summary of our accomplishments from the past year and reflect on our future goals. This will be a great networking opportunity for the entire BME family (students, staff, faculty, affiliates, industry partners, collaborators and supporters), so I hope to see you there!
This year, we will have three new faculty members join our team. Dr. Kevin Otto and Dr. Lin Yang will start in the next month, and Dr. Cherie Stabler will join the department in Spring 2015. Please take the opportunity to welcome and get to know our new faculty members throughout the year.
Lastly, I would like to invite you all to attend the BME seminars this semester, which are open to anyone in the community, including local industry. As part of our seminar series, we have several distinguished lecturers who are key leaders in the Biomedical Engineering field visiting us. You can find more information about our upcoming seminars on our website: http://bme.ufl.edu/bme_seminars.
I wish you all a successful and rewarding academic year and look forward to seeing you on August 22 and around campus!
Best,
Christine
