There are different methods by which we can assess students’ learning, even in the science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) fields. By evaluating what it is you’re seeking to evaluate as instructor, creative assessments that extend beyond traditional exams or research papers are possible. This talk will provide over a dozen suggestions for creative methods to assess student learning, which often serve as more accurate reflections of the critical thinking, problem-solving, and intercultural skills that students should actually be developing.

Diba (UF 2021-2022 Undergraduate Teacher of the Year) has experience teaching small- and large-enrollment undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in-person, hybrid, and fully online.
