Jenielle Urquia

Lab: Dr. Jennifer A. Nichols Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Laboratory

Degree: I am graduating with my Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering.

Hometown: Lake Mary, Florida

Research focus: Evaluating force propagation across the thumb joints in individuals with Carpometacarpal Osteoarthritis.

What attracted you to UF BME? I joined UF in 2019 as a freshman. I was interested in the different research areas and career options in BME. UF BME also offered the combined degree program allowing me to graduate with my Bachelor’s and Master’s in five years.

What I love about Gainesville: It’s a small town centered around the university and only two hours away from home.
